VISA and Work Permit
With a valid work permit issued by NTU, you may go to your nearby TECO office (Taipei Economy and Culture Office) to apply for a necessary entry visa.
After arriving at NTU, please register with the department and NTU Personnel office to validate your account at NTU including system work and ID creation.
Housing
NTU provides accommodation on campus for full-time faculty with limited availability.
Your host department can assist you in finding accommodation best suited to your needs.
If you plan to stay near NTU for short period of time, please refer to the following options
NTU Visiting Scholars Dormitory
客座學人宿舍 (Wenzhou Street) is suitable for scholars coming for a few months. The accommodation fee is charged per month.
Due to limited number of rooms of the visiting scholar dormitory, please ask your host department to apply it for you as early as possible if you prefer this option.

Hsiu Chi House
Located next to the main campus, the Hsiu Chi House 修齊會館 is operated by Prince Housing and Development Cooperation. It welcomes both long and short-term stays.

Health Insurance
You already have an ARC
The National Health Insurance (NHI) is Taiwan’s official medical insurance operated by the Bureau of National Health Insurance in the Executive Yuan’s Department of Health. Taiwan residents must register for the NHI. Scholars who hold an ARC must enroll in the National Health Insurance (NHI).
You don’t have an ARC
You need an ARC to be eligible for the NHI. Without an ARC, you may want to enroll in other insurance programs. Your host department can assist you in enrolling in the program of your choice.
