Eligibility of Visiting scholar

Visiting scholars are individuals whose primary purpose for residing in Taiwan is to conduct research and/or lectures at NTU. Applicants must NOT hold student status when applying for the program. With an official invitation letter from an NTU host, you may apply for the NTU Visiting Scholar Program. The duration of stay for visiting scholars is typically no longer than one year.

*The application process for the Visiting Scholar Program is now fully online, and NTU OIA no longer accepts applications via email or hard copy. 

* If your stay in Taiwan will exceed 180 days, you must obtain approval from Taiwan’s Ministry of Education before applying to NTU OIA. Please contact your host department for details.

*Currently, PRC passport holders are not allowed to participate in academic exchanges in Taiwan unless their host department at NTU is willing to submit a request to the MOE for approval. Only after obtaining MOE approval can scholars apply for the Entry and Exit Permit to Taiwan, Republic of China.
