Kevin Kester is Associate Professor of Comparative International Education and Peace/Development Studies at Seoul National University (서울대학교) and director of the Education, Conflict and Peace Lab. He researches educational responses to conflict, peace and development in local and global contexts. His most recent book, published in 2020, is The United Nations and Higher Education: Peacebuilding, Social Justice and Global Cooperation for the 21st Century. In 2023, he edited a special issue of the Asia Pacific Education Review, titled “Revisiting ‘Asia as Method’ in Education Research”, drawing on the work of Taiwanese cultural studies scholar Kuan-Hsing Chen. He completed his PhD and postdoc at the University of Cambridge, and was previously Visiting Scholar at Yale University. Prior to moving to Seoul National University he was Director of Studies for Education at Queens’ College and Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge.
